HP RegenPercent & HP Containers
We elected to start our Best Noita mods rundown with 2 mods rather than one, for Noita is very tight when it comes to healing. As you receive damage, the lack of health pickups forces you to slowly drop down towards the health pickup at the next holy mountain instead of allowing you to explore east or west, or return to previous areas of the game.
With the HealthContainers mod, slaying any enemy has a percentage chance (that you pick) of dropping a health item, and again, you choose how powerful the boost is. Given that you don’t generally have any of this in the game, a little goes a very long way.
Alternatively, Health RegenPercent (Health RegenPercent) grants you health regeneration options if you fall below a certain amount of health. This can be quite useful as a replacement or in conjunction with the HealthContainers mod, since you won’t always have enemies around to KO for sure to earn a chance at health.
Whichever combination of adjustments you use between these two mods alone will completely change the longevity of your game and allow you more opportunities to unlock new spells along the way.
The end isn’t The end
The next Noita mod is a game-changer. If you would like to add respawn points to this game, The end isn’t The end is the mod for you. By simply using this mod, the game difficulty is reduced so much that it practically makes it a different experience. This much more safety allows you the freedom to explore from one side of the map to the other and grants you the freedom to experiment with all sorts of dangerous spells.
This almost feels like using some of Noita’s hacks or cheats, where dying is a bit more of an inconvenience rather than the end of your run. One of the most challenging elements of this game is discovery, in terms of how spells and wands end up working together – a lot of combinations will unfortunately KO the player, and being free to experiment without that fear can also allow you the opportunity to make some daring moves that you would otherwise have never attempted.
Edit Wands Always
Yet another mod you can try is called “Edit Wands Always“, which simply gives you one of the most powerful advantages in the game: the power to swap out your spells at any time. Apart from the immediate obvious advantage of being able to experiment instantly with spells you find in the wild, you also gain the ability to manage your wands much more efficiently on the fly and handle the game’s limited inventory much better.
Welp, it gets a lot more limited when you can loot spells from any wand you find, which is probably why this isn’t just the standard gameplay experience by default. You’re likely to wind up with a lot of wands scattered around the world.
It’s worth noting that while “Edit Wands Always” is a great mod, and quite good for getting the hang of the game. However, for a new player, we would strongly suggest not using it. While it does make gameplay and experimentation a bit easier, you’ll find yourselves spending a lot longer in your runs changing wands mid-level than you do playing the game and picking up things about Noita in general.
Anvil of Destiny
If you’re looking for something to do with all those empty wands, then the Anvil of Destiny is a mod you want to consider adding to your arsenal, as it generates these hidden anvils in your random world. By learning how to use these anvils, you’ll be able to combine wands into more powerful versions, create spells from combinations of wands in the process, or even create spells directly from liquids.
Once again, this is one of those Noita mods that packs in strong customization options, which enable you to tweak it to make it either more or less powerful. If you choose not to use the “Edit Wand Always” mod, then you can also choose to use the anvils as editing locations, which provides a good tradeoff given how ultra-powerful the skill can be.
Noita Minimap mod
The next mod on this list is gonna be purely to assist exploration, the Noita Minimap mod. You may have probably already noticed this one on the screen of some Noita steamer, and of course, this is yet another mod that can be somewhat too far on the powerful side. As a specific disclaimer, this minimap mod will also be able to reveal objects that you shouldn’t normally be able to spot.
A prime example of this is dark areas of the game that normally require a light source. You can move relatively safely around these areas by keeping your eyes only on the minimap. That being said, you are guaranteed to love the fact that it displays projectiles and live updates: it will for sure it much easier for me to do the more dangerous forms of cave exploring, as well as find a lot of items that you probably would have missed out on otherwise.
So, that concludes our best Noita mods list, which is short but provides high levels of usefulness. We also advise you to take it slow with any of these mods until you customize them to your liking, possibly until you are more confident attempting a traditional run later again.
